Wahoo!Yay! Global Foundries !Tech Valley !Woo. Woo! I have to stop there .My cheer leading outfit is too tight and I cannot breath. While all the so called visionaries are patting each other on the back because GlobalFoundries is breaking ground in Malta one has to wonder what is to become of working class New Yorkers in the new Tech Valley. The average wage at Malta will be $60,000 and we will get 4000 State subsidized jobs. Yes. State subsidized. Ask yourself how any of this will benefit the working middle class in the future. After al the construction jobs have panned out. After all the dust settles what will be left. One so called visionaries has said “we can now take on the far east in chip building” Sorry to say but this is a bit delusional. No offense intended. As long as slave labor is available big business will go there. Have a look at the numbers for customer service outsourcing. As long as there are wages in places that equal $20 a week American we don't stand a chance. Even AMD, which is in the middle of a layover in Malta to grab some quick cash, is headed to China. They have been courting the Chinese for a couple of years. GlobalFoundries seen as the savior/foundation of Tech Valley is headed to Dubai to build its next plant if Malta is successful.

So what about Tech Valley? They say we are changing to a Technology based economy. So we are moving into a field that is volatile to say the least. We are moving towards an industry where a product can be extinct in less than a year. We are moving into an industry and putting our hopes on AMD/GlobalFoundries/Government of Dubai to be its base to get this ball rolling. AMD which has reported massive losses for the last 12 quarters. We are going to Technology based economy where all jobs from the middle class down will be under constant attack for outsourcing to India or other countries where big business can pay $2hr. So in truth we will have no more middle class in Tech Valley. We will have the technological, intellectual, educational, cultural jobs and then we will have those allowed to stay and serve them burgers and service their cars. Of course those people will have no place to live because their wages will not allow them to afford the price of rent or a mortgage on any of the properties greedy real estate agents have already started to drive through the roof.

Yes it’s true. Real Estate speculators have been grabbing up properties waiting for the Tech Valley mystic to become a reality. Some private investors and a large percentage real estate brokers themselves who are only too happy to instruct their agents to put outrageous and over inflated prices on properties. They have already lined up their bogus appraisers. We can start off with foreclosures waiting to happen. Sound familiar?? Not to worry though they will never be exposed as the root of the Mortgage crisis and regulated. 20 years form now the Federal Government will throw Billions more to bolster and salvage the real estate nightmare the Brokers and Agents are already creating in anticipation for Tech Valley. Have you ever wondered how a Real Estate Broker could own the south end of Saratoga Lake or that their new offices sit on multi million dollar properties. Have you ever wondered how a private reality company is selling the Luther Forest Land to GlobalFoundries.

As far as transportation to serve the Technology based class. We can bus them in as is done in other parts of the US where the poor in the service industries are bused in from over an hour away for the minimum wage jobs. Of course they will never afford a car because even after all those wage concession big auto will continue to rob the consumer by charging $40,000 for a vehicle. They will continue to lie to the public when they and their cronies like Kelly Blue Book try to justify that amount by telling America these $40,000 vehicles will last for 300,000 miles. That is a flat out lie. But again. Not to worry. instead of exposing those guilty of defrauding the consumer and creating this nightmare 20 years from now the Federal Government will throw billions at Big Auto and demand that workers give back more wages and pension and health care benefits to float an industry that is its own worst enemy.
The supporters of Tech Valley in their zeal to promote the misguided vision of a few are ignoring the dangers and pitfalls of what Tech Valley will really mean. They can use the model of Saratoga Springs so called “City Fathers” to build their utopia. In Saratoga Springs they have the same misguided and pompous few who have decided that they need to push the unwanted and undesirable out of Saratoga. By undesirable I mean the middle class. They have bought up all the properties in the middle class or less neighborhoods, such as Beekman Street, and drove the working class out. The new rule for Saratoga is that if you make less than $100,000 a year, do not think the Ballet, Jazz and Opera are the only form of acceptable entertainment and truly believe that the Saratoga Race Track and Hat Day is the pinnacle of ones life than you are not allowed to live within one square mile of downtown Saratoga. You can serve them and they will only pay minimum wage or less but you must be bused in from your hovel to do so. Now remember these are the same visionaries that have turned Saratoga into the hideous mess that it is and are firing the Police and Firefighting force. They need to finance parking meters a flowering program for the areas in front of the race track before Hat Day so let’s fire the Police and Firefighters. Who needs police and fire protection? I mention this because it is a fine example of how a misguided few when given any type of power can bring a community to the brink of disaster. Very much like the SEDC and GlobalFoundries. Very Much like Joe Bruno selling another dead horse.

Is this the model for the future of the middle class in Tech Valley? Will the workers whose jobs are not outsourced to third world countries be restricted from living within 10 square miles of Tech Valley because they have been socially and financially boxed out. How far from the truth is this. Before the idealists get all giggly about Tech Valley perhaps they should take a closer look at the carpetbaggers lurking in the wings. Do the Tech Valley visionaries not see this as a potential disaster for the working middle class? Perhaps they feel the middle class is an acceptable sacrifice for their vision called Tech Valley. Look around you .The slash and burn going on now by Obama to clean up the destruction of the Bush Clowns and salvage our economy is highlighted by wage concessions. It is always highlighted by wage concessions. It is always the cry by greedy CEOs that Americans make too much. If that is so than why is such a large percentage of working America at or just above the poverty level? So what is the answer according to big business? Why chop the American wage. Create poverty stricken cesspools that Big Business can draw its labor from. Let’s drop them to China or India’s wage levels so we can all live in cardboard boxes and be slum dog millionaires. What is wrong with selling a few of our children? That is what big business supports and greed perpetuates.

Let’s hope that all goes well for Tech Valley and GlobalFoundries. Let us hope all the indicators and the evidence are wrong. I am writing this because industry indicators and the facts presented by AMD themselves show a different reality than that presented by the so called visionaries. They show that GlobalFoundries and AMD have a very strong chance of failing. The company due to its so called “Partnership” with AMD is starting behind the 8 ball. While we have everything short of a ticker tape parade over GlobalFoundries we might want to step back and ask how this project if it succeeds benefits the middle class which is the backbone of any community. Step back and envision the empty hole in the middle of Malta, which has allowed its entire identity to be destroyed by some SEDC clowns, if the Globalfoundries project fails. Step back and look at the shell game this project has been from the onset. Shall we applaud the billions in NY Tax dollars GlobalFoundries has already bleed from the people of NY. Shall we applaud the millions yet to be

Yeah, maybe you need to prevent it to happen because a lot of people will be affected.
